Yesterday I went north to retrieve the pictures from a camera I had set up on June 2nd, I also went to one of my favorite ponds to look for a place to set a tent for this upcoming weekend. Had great weather for the trip, a little on the hot side but nice weather none the less. Started by searching for a campsite along the edge of the pond big enough and flat enough to pitch a couple tents, after rounding the entire pond we found what we were looking for, a nice little patch of heaven hidden by a few Balsam trees but right on the edge of the water, perfect for early morning moose watching! After deciding that this location was infact the spot we wanted, we packed up the canoe and headed for the truck and to my camera. Along the way we spotted a cow moose feeding on the rivers edge.
Now, the walk in towards the camera had very limited to no fresh sign, so the closer I got to the camera the less optimistic I became. I have never placed a camera in this area before but because of the beaten down trail in previous trips here I decided to place a camera. I had no idea what time of year they were using this trail but I had to find out. Once we arrived at the camera, the anticipation with what I might have on camera was killing me! so I unlocked the box, opend the camera to see that it had 765 pictures! I remember telling a buddy of mine that had come with me that its probably only 1 or 2 moose, here are a few pictures from up north, please leave some comments about why you think these moose did what they did! I will post most of the pics on my facebook page please click here to see all pics www.facebook.com/swampdonkeyadventure and be sure to "like" my page while your there!!
