Well today did not go at all like expected! Got up at 1:30 am to leave by 2am, drove 3 hours to get to my Moose honey hole by first light only to find out that the gate that has never been locked before was LOCKED! A huge project is in the works so the gates were locked! The water levels in all the lakes, ponds and marshes are way over their banks! I canoed several other ponds while I was up there to check plant growth and it looks like it might be a couple of weeks before the vegetation that moose love will be ready to be consumed! When this happens it will be a fun time to take a wildlife/moose tour. On a brighter note, I spoke to the person in charge of the gate and it looks like I might be getting a key to the gate, if all goes as planned.
